Hizbollah on Wednesday celebrated the release of the last five Lebanese prisoners held by Israel as a “victory from God” and gave them a hero’s welcome at a rally attended by much of the country’s political leadership.

The jubilant scenes in Beirut followed the completion of a prisoner exchange between Hizbollah and Israel that saw the Shia group hand over the remains of the two Israeli soldiers whose capture triggered the 2006 Lebanon war.
