Russia rejects plan for Kosovo

Russia rejected on Thursday the latest western-backed draft resolution on the future of Kosovo under discussion at the United Nations Security Council, saying the document used different words to outline the same pro-independence plan for Serbia’s UN-administered breakaway province.

Sergei Lavrov, the Russian foreign minister, said the proposed four-month extension for further talks was not good enough, since Belgrade would still not accept Kosovo’s independence.
