Ministers meeting in Davos on Saturday in an attempt to revive the Doha round of trade liberalisation talks expressed confidence that completion could be reached by the end of 2006.

It is the first meeting of ministers from a broad cross-section of countries since the talks, which collapsed at the ministerial meeting in Cancún in 2003, resumed with a framework agreement last summer. The next ministerial meeting from all 148 members of the World Trade Organisation is scheduled for Hong Kong in December.
