Hedge funds investing in emerging markets have bounced back after one of their worst years during 2008 to rank among the best performers this year to date as managers focusing on undervalued securities in Russia, India and China lead a broad recovery for the group.

The average emerging market hedge fund is up 20.1 per cent so far this year according to latest figures by Hedge Fund Research, the data provider.
