Calderón pins faith on Mexicans’ urge for continuity

A couple of hours have gone by and the 3,000 or so farmers and shopkeepers gathered in Cadereyta’s colonial plaza are getting hot and listless.

Women twirl parasols, men in baseball caps fidget with their free campaign flags and children slip between the metal bars of the fence that has been erected to keep them back from the stage.
