Silverman quits NBC after two years

NBC Universal has parted company with Ben Silverman, its colourful programming head, who leaves to form a new venture with Barry Diller’s IAC media group.

The departure of Mr Silverman is a blow to Jeff Zucker, NBC Universal’s chairman, who defied criticism to hire the young TV producer to revive NBC’s fortunes two years ago.
