Rights group slams Saudi Arabia

Amnesty International on Tuesday condemned Saudi Arabia for detaining thousands of suspected militants for several years without charge and urged the government to end the secrecy around terrorism trials.

In a 69-page report, the London-based human rights group urged the UK government to block the potential extradition of British resident Shaker Aamer, a Saudi national currently held in Guantánamo, owing to prolonged detentions in the kingdom.
