Cold weather forecast boosts oil prices

Oil prices rose on Monday as cold weather swept through Europe and North America leading to expectations of a pick-up in demand for heating oil.

A mild winter in the northern hemisphere so far has dragged prices below the $50 a barrel mark last week because oil demand has fallen sharply during a period of the year when consumption normally surges.
