Viktor Bout – elusive entrepreneur

Viktor Bout was a Russian entrepreneur who built his business organisation out of the ruins of the former Soviet Union.

A former Soviet military officer, with possible links to the KGB, he was able to buy Soviet military transport aircraft and, according to several United Nations reports, deliver weapons from desperate suppliers in the former Soviet bloc to Africa and other conflict zones.
