Reed Elsevier is selling part of Reed Business Information, the trade magazine arm that it failed to sell in one piece last year amid poor trading conditions and the subsidiary’s reduced valuation.

Clive Jacobs, the former chief executive of car rental business Holiday Autos and former vice-chairman of Lastminute.com, is buying TWgroup, RBI’s travel publishing division.
