Business fights for tougher emissions rules

Five leading US consumer companies have launched a campaign to press for ambitious regulation designed to combat global warming, as a policy battle looms in Washington over president-elect Barack Obama’s agenda on climate change.

The founding members of the Business for Innovative Climate and Energy Policy (Bicep) coalition include Nike, Starbucks, Levi Strauss, Timberland and Sun Microsystems.
