Zelaya vows to return to Honduras

Honduras was braced for confrontation yesterday as Manuel Zelaya, the ousted president, insisted that he would return home to reclaim his post even as the interim government said it would not let him land.

Mr Zelaya, who was deported from Honduras a week ago after soldiers entered the presidential palace and arrested him, vowed to return to retake his rightful position as president and urged supporters to mass at the airport to welcome him.
