Business leaders attack Heathrow expansion plan

The Conservatives on Sunday launched an attack on business groups backing a third runway at Heathrow, saying the CBI and others should “wake up” to growing concerns over the plans among its grassroots membership.

In the wake of a string of leading business figures voicing their opposition to the runway, Theresa Villiers, shadow transport secretary, said the “business establishment” should not assume it was speaking for a clear majority.
