Airlines report easing of turbulence

Passenger traffic on European airlines showed tentative signs of stabilisation in July after months of sharp declines, as people proved reluctant to give up their summer holidays, according to new figures released on Monday.

Provisional statistics from the Association of European Airlines, which brings together 33 airlines including British Airways, Lufthansa and Air France, show that traffic fell again in July, but by a smaller amount than in previous months.
