Johnston Press blames adverts decline on 'economic adversity'

Johnston Press, the regional newspaper publisher, admitted household worries about a possible economic slowdown has hit its key advertising markets.

Tim Bowdler, chief executive, said advertisements for property and motor vehicles had particularly been aff-ected by a fall in consumer confidence.
