ArcelorMittal rebuffed in Indonesia

ArcelorMittal’s expansion plans in Indonesia have been dealt a blow after state-owned Krakatau Steel ruled out talks over a $3bn joint venture with the Luxembourg-based group until at least next year.

Fazwar Bujang, Krakatau’s president director, told the Financial Times that his management team would then field proposals from “several prominent steel companies” looking to partner with the group to build a new steel plant.
