ECB raises fears over warnings of crisis

Concern that warnings about threats to Europe’s financial systems might not be passed on fast enough at times of crisis has been expressed by the European Central Bank, highlighting official unease at current regulatory arrangements.

The need for reforms to beef up early warning systems have emerged as a clear concern of the Frankfurt-based ECB as it draws the lessons of the global financial turmoil since last August.
