Ramco Energy will this morning announce a radical shift of strategy to focus on offshore wind power, making the industry's most dramatic response yet to the government's promise of a "new North Sea" investment boom.
The Aim-listed oil and gas company's move, creating the stock market's only company purely focused on offshore wind, is the latest pioneering venture from chairman Steve Remp, who helped open the Caspian oil industry in the 1990s, and agreed the first joint venture for a British company in Iraq since the US-led invasion of 2003.
