Search for ‘circuit breakers’ as shorting ban lifts

As the controversial ban on shorting some financial stocks was lifted on Thursday, the industry was getting back to the business of arguing about what should replace it.

NYSE Euronext, the transatlantic exchange, is considering a new set of rules applying to individual stocks as part of its efforts to lead the industry to a consensus on how best to police the activities of short sellers following the lifting of a three-week ban.
