Brussels plan on lobbying angers law firms

International law firms are heading for a conflict with the European Commission over its attempts to force lobbyists to disclose more about their clients and income.

The Law Society of England and Wales - where many of Europe's biggest international firms are based - will meet Commission officials today to raise concerns that the new rules could clash with lawyers' professional duties to guard client privacy.
