Ofcom sets ceiling on charges

Most mobile phone companies heaved a sigh of relief yesterday as regulators unveiled a new price controls regime for the industry.

Ofcom, the media and telecoms watchdog, proposed cuts in the charges that mobile operators can levy on each other and fixed-line companies such as BT for terminating phone calls made to their networks.
