Eurozone central banks weather financial storm

Eurozone central banks’ finances have weathered the global economic storms and the collapse of private-sector banks to produce overall positive results, figures this week are expected to show.

Bank sector turmoil, which saw Lehman Brothers fail last September, has meant more than €10bn borrowed from the ECB in its market operations has not been repaid.
