Acquisitions take considerable time to complete, but the real work of integrating two different company cultures takes even longer.

Aberdeen Asset Management announced its acquisition of Credit Suisse’s traditional asset management business in an equity swap worth about £250m (€276m, $414m) at the end of last year. But it was only a few weeks ago that the London-based fixed income teams started to work together in Aberdeen’s new office at Bow Churchyard.
