Kosovo parties urged to avoid violence

Mediators from the European Union, US and Russia have urged Serbs and Albanians to avoid any action that could lead to violence following the failure of last-ditch talks on the future status of Kosovo.

Intensified meetings between Serbian and separatist ethnic Albanian leaders in the Austrian spa town, Baden, concluded on Wednesday without concessions from either side over Serbia’s breakaway province, administered by the United Nations for more than eight years.
