Shares rise 13% at billing group

Shares in Billing Services Group rose more than 13 per cent on Friday after the Aim-quoted telecoms billing company showed a nearly threefold increase in profits.

The Texas-based company, which handles billing for US landline telephone operators, is benefiting from a trend among American consumers to pay for an increasing number of services – such as internet hosting or digital music and movies – through their domestic phone bills.
