Threat to corporate CDOs increases

The prospect of a severe economic recession and a sharp increase in corporate defaults is expected to further erode the value of hundreds of billions of dollars of complex debt securities linked to derivatives on corporate debt.

The market for corporate synthetic collateralised debt obligations is extremely opaque owing to the private and tailor-made nature of many of the deals.
