Rise in US oil stocks sends crude lower

Crude oil prices on Wednesday fell to a fresh 3-month low just above $117 a barrel after the US Department of Energy reported an increase in crude inventories amid lower demand.

US commercial crude oil inventories rose 1.7m barrels last week to 296.9m barrels, above Wall Street’s forecast of an increase of just 300,000 barrels.
