For residents of the remote district of Konso, in southern Ethiopia, seasonal droughts have been made worse by the erratic weather patterns that many people link to climate change.
In the lead up to December’s Copenhagen climate conference, the FT’s East Africa correspondent Barney Jopson travelled to the district to speak to people who are already suffering from the the effects of environmental change – and to see how the charity WaterAid is helping to alleviate water poverty in the region.
