Headhunter starts search for new Yahoo chief

When John Thompson, one of the technology industry’s top headhunters, singled out a veteran engineer named Eric Schmidt to run Google, it turned out to be one of the great Silicon Valley hires.

He is likely to find it much harder, though, to find the right chemistry when trying to replace Jerry Yang, the outgoing chief executive of Yahoo.
