N Korean blast just cloud, says Seoul

A mushroom-shaped cloud seen above North Korea last week may have been a natural meteorological phenomenon rather than the fall-out from a huge explosion, South Korea said yesterday.

Seoul's explanation followed days of frenzied speculation about the cause of the cloud, including suspicions that the secretive communist state may have conducted its first test of a nuclear weapon.
