Walmart says confidence remains low

Walmart on Thursday underlined the continuing gap between Wall Street’s increasing confidence and Main Street sentiment, saying it was seeing no signs of its customers being under less financial stress.

“Customers continue to tell us they’re concerned about their own finances and unemployment,” Eduardo Castro-Wright, head of Walmart USA, said. “We recognise that some customers may be more cautious in their holiday spending.”
