Kennedy diagnosed with brain tumour

Figures from across the US political spectrum showered praise on Edward Kennedy, the torchbearer of the Kennedy dynasty, on Tuesday after it was revealed that he was suffering from a malignant brain tumour.

Doctors said that Mr Kennedy, 76 – who has been a senator since 1962 when he took over the Massachusetts seat his brother John vacated after he became president – was walking around and “full of energy”.
