Lebanese leaders approve first post-Syrian government

Lebanon yesterday announced its first government since the departure of Syrian troops earlier this year and last month's elections in which anti-Syrian groups gained a majority.

Fouad Siniora, prime minister designate, presented the list of 24 ministers after finally obtaining the assent of Emile Lahoud, the country's pro-Syrian president.
