Apple offers early warning sign to bulls

Apple’s rise to $500 a share and the US’s largest company by market value (on most days) has lent it greater significance.

Apple makes up 3.8 per cent of the S&P 500 index and 16.4 per cent of the Nasdaq 100 index. As a result, traders are looking to the shares not just as an indicator of corporate health, but also for technical leadership.
