Lawsuits filed over DVD software

The movie industry yesterday launched a legal fight to block the sale of DVD copying software it alleges breaches copyright and encourages piracy.

The Motion Picture Association of America filed suit in a federal court in Los Angeles as RealNetworks, the software maker, filed its own suit in a district court in northern California.
