‘Legal highs’ brought low by drug raids

Amsterdam of London, an exotically decorated shop in the heart of bohemian Camden Market, received some unexpected visitors this week, in the shape of half a dozen uniformed police officers accompanied by medicines regulators.

It was one of 20 outlets in north London raided on Wednesday as the authorities stepped up their attack on the growing market for so-called “legal highs” – hallucinogenic products that are banned by the medicines regulator.
