UK dispute hits Icelandic foreign exchange

Foreign exchange has almost ceased to function in Iceland as the country tries to protect its currency and the UK takes steps to protect British depositors in Icelandic banks.

Local exporters, expatriates and international groups trying to do business in the country all complained on Wednesday that they were suffering as a result of the two governments’ actions.
