Autonomy prepares for small deals and a 'harsh downturn'

Autonomy, the Cambridge-based search software group, said it was "planning for a harsh downturn", but had yet to see a drop in business.

Mike Lynch, chief executive, said yesterday that he did not expect any more contract wins of the magnitude of the eye-catching announcements this year, but believed the larger contracts would pave the way for "the next tier" of smaller deals.
