Investors and providers make a bundle

Wraps, web-based platforms that allow investors to bring a wide range of assets under one roof, are changing the way individuals manage their portfolios. They are also altering how fund managers and insurance companies sell their products and the way financial advisers deal with their clients.

The growth in the number of companies offering wraps has persuaded the Financial Services Authority to launch an inquiry into the sector to assess how they are used and how charges are disclosed.
