Japan’s jobless rate close to a two-year high

Japan’s jobless rate has edged close to a two-year high, adding to evidence that the country’s longest recovery since the second world war could be grinding to a halt.

In June, seasonally adjusted unemployment rose 0.1 percentage points to 4.1 per cent, prompting the labour ministry to downgrade its assessment of the labour market for the first time in 10 months.
