Tehran given deadline to stall UN talks

The six world powers that negotiate with Iran over its nuclear programme warned Tehran on Wednesday that it had two weeks to present a new proposal if it wanted to stop the United Nations from debating economic sanctions.

Iran said earlier this week that it was ready to resume talks with the six powers on the atomic programme, saying it had formulated an “updated nuclear proposal”.
