IMF approves $750m loan for Georgia

WASHINGTON Sept 15 The International Monetary Fund on Monday approved a $750 million loan program for Georgia aimed at rebuilding the country’s currency reserves and restoring investor confidence shaken by the war with Russia.

The IMF said it would immediately disburse $250m to the government and issue the balance in six installments over the next 18 months.
