Copper sinks below $6,000 level

Copper prices fell below $6,000 a tonne for the first time in nine months on Wednesday, under pressure from rising stockpiles and a turn in investor sentiment.

The red metal has now fallen 32 per cent since peaking at $8,660 a tonne in May.
