Share suspension would be better

Sir, It is common procedure for a quoted plc to have its shares suspended, when in extreme difficulty, "pending clarification of its financial position". Would this not be a better bet for Northern Rock, as it struggles to determine its future (if any), rather than providing a playground for "short-sellers" ?
