Vladimir Putin, the Russian president who is visiting London on Tuesday for a summit with the European Union, insists nothing is wrong with Russia-EU relations.

"Of course, there is no coolness between Russia and the EU," he said at a recent meeting with foreign academics and journalists. "Frankly speaking, I can't even see any reasons why there should be."
