Low ebb of moral faith says the only way is up

When the economy is booming and stock markets soaring, few are tempted to indulge in angst-ridden reflections on the morality of the markets.

So Recovery Watch is encouraged by this week’s call from a group of City luminaries for capitalism to be reattached “to its moral moorings” – a sign, surely, that we are well into the trough of the recession and the only way is up.
