Lindsay Tomlinson: realism on governance

Expecting UK pension funds to act as the overseer of UK plc is an expectation too far, according to Lindsay Tomlinson.

The vice-chairman of Barclays Global Investors Europe and newly-installed chairman of the National Association of Pension Funds is not against funds using their weight as shareholders, but “firstly, it’s not going to necessarily be absolutely top of mind, and secondly, how effective is it going to be?”
