Ebay slips 7% as key measures decline

Shares in Ebay slipped 7 per cent on Wednesday after it reported a deterioration in some key measures of how its online markets performed in the second quarter of this year.

The e-commerce company also gave a downbeat forecast in the face of the slowing economy and a continuing overhaul of how its markets operate, though it beat Wall Street expectations for its more recent quarter and senior executives expressed confidence that it was on the right track.
