World military forces face overstretch

Nato defence ministers start a two-day meeting today in the Slovenian coastal resort of Portoroz with a growing headache.

The alliance's credibility hangs on its 20,000-strong mission in Afghanistan, which needs at least 2,000 more troops, and its 26 member states are struggling to find them.
