UK Christmas internet shopping jumps 20%

UK shoppers let their fingers do the walking this Christmas as shopping online jumped 20 per cent to £3bn against more sluggish growth on the high street.

Online shopping accounts for 6.3 per cent of total spending, according to data from the Interactive Retail Media Group research company - and stores without websites paid the price in poorer sales.
